Hello,

please, i am planing to move Ingres from AIX 4.3 to AIX 5.3, this is
not an upgrade, but moving.

I will use unloaddb to do this, but for while, i would like to
understand if my ABF and application
will be moved too if i only apply unloaddb? Or is it necessary execute
the copyapp too?

Best regards,
Erick

Hi Erick,

unloaddb will do all you want in copying the application and forms to
the new host.

But you'll have to move the application source yourself. Plus be aware
that on the new host your application source path may change. You would
have to re-key that.

I'm not aware of any differences in the OS levels that would cause
problems, but it wouldn't hurt if you did a trial transfer, rebuild the
application on the new host and at least see if you can fire it up and
navigate a few menues.
