Post subject: scripted method for determing port in use?
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>sqlserver>msde (more info?)

Hello,

Does anyone know of a way in osql or some other cmd-line tool to
determine which port a msde sql server 2000 instance is running?

SVRNETCN.exe gets me the info I need , but that's a GUI.

I have an application installer that installs its MSDE database on a
seemingly random TCP/IP application, and I need to be able to
determine what that port number is by running a script.

Any ideas?

Thanks very much!
