Post subject: replication not working

Hi,
I have followed the intructions in the mysql manual, to set up replication. The replication does not seem to work. Everything seems ok, except that I don't see any Binlog Dump thread in show processlist on master.

What could be causing that. Any help is appreciated.

solved. Turned out that replication accnt I had set up did not have access to the master... but looking at show processlist on slave, it seemed like it was connecting (but it was not). So I gave the accnt additional privilages and tried to connect to master and it did not.
