I am trying to see if named pipes connection works on my cluster, sql server
2K.

I have tryied the 2 utilities, makepipe and readpipe.

The connection works if, when using readpipe, I use the physical server name.
But our configuration is on MSCS 2 nodes Cluster.
If I use the virtual name the connection fails.
Is that normal?

Please advise.

Did you have any problem connecting to a SQL instance in the cluster via
named pipes? If so, why not just use osql to test your named pipe
connectivity.
