I have some rather long table names/addresses and sometimes when I click the
"Show Table.." button or design a new query it is very difficult to select
the required tables I wish to query.

I can't believe I am the only person who ever had an issue with this and I
wanted to know if there is a work around. I am using access 2003

I have that same problem and I have never figured out why they would make it
that small.

Not unless you go to extremes.
I don't remember the A2003 form, but in my A2007 it can show at least
55 chars.
You're probably overdoing it with your very long names.
Of course you can omit this dialog and directly drag and drop objects
from the database window.

You can adjust your system font smaller so more characters show in the window.
But even if you use a larger font, at least 35 to 50 characters will show in
that window. If 35 characters isn't enough to tell the difference between
query names, your names are too long to work with.
