Archived from groups: comp>databases>informix (more info?)

Ardenta is looking for an experienced Informix administrator to be based at
its offices in Sunbury, SW London.

The essential skill sought are strong (many years) experience in IDS 10 or
11 based on UNIX or Linux systems, allied to strong inter-personal skills
and the ability to write reports (such as incident reports) and
presentations in a clear and logical manner.

Other skills of great interest are strong UNIX or Linux administration
skills, familiarity with SAN technology and familiarity with networks.
Experience in - sorry, everybody Wink - Oracle would be a great advantage
too.

The role will involve helping support Ardenta's customers, mainly running
Informix systems. Ardenta's philosophy is be proactive wherever possible,
so a typical day might involve some reactive work, but hopefully more
looking a trends and new business initiatives and proposing technical
solutions to these.

Most of Ardenta's service clients have also taken their infrastructure
design, and often hardware, from Ardenta so there is also an opportunity to
engage in pre-sales consultancy for new and existing customers.

Although Ardenta's customers are dotted all over the world the role is
primarily Sunbury-based, with home working for out-of-hours activities, and
the occasional on-site visit. You would be working in a team of 15
technical and service delivery staff.

The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package and the
opportunity to gain exposure in wider infrastructure technologies such as
SAN, networking and performance analysis, as well as Oracle and other DBMSs.

If interested please email careers.TakeThisOut@ardenta.com with a CV and covering letter
including current salary and expectations. Please use the same email
address for any questions.

Please note that this rule is open to EU citizens only; we cannot sponsor
work permits.
