Windows 2003 R2 Standard DC Server SP2
SQL 2000 Standard SP4 8.00.2282

Outlook Xp SP3 installed also

My sql services are started with same account as I logon as.

SQL Server Properties Server Settings SQL Mail Start mail session using
profile is Outlook

Under Support Services
SQL Mail Profile Name Outlook when I click on test button it is successfull
Successfully started and stopped a MAPI session with this profile

So far so good.....

Under management
SQL Server Agent select properties Mail session Mail profile is Outlook
save copies of sent messages in the Sent Items folder is checked
When I click on the test button I get
Successfully started and stopped a mail session with this profile
created a new operator on the general tab I entered an email address and
clicked on the test button and the mail was sent succesfully
On the notifications tab
All Alerts are checked under E-Mail
All Jobs have Upon Failure listed under email
operator is available to receive notifications is checked
clicked on Send Email and it successfully sent the email

Now for my issue

I created a maintenance paln and on the repoting tab I have Email report to
operator is checked and new operator is selceted.

When the job from the maintenance plan runs it shoudl send me a email that
the job was successful or not.

I am not getting any such email

Outlook client is on and running with the profile I selected in sql.

Also I have two other SQL servers on different machines and they work fine.

I am missing something here and I am not sure what it is.

Any ideas or help?

Thanks

Tom

I can't help you with SQL Mail; I never liked it. I recommend looking into
http://www.sqldev.net/xp/xpsmtp.htm.

It is very easy to setup and use and works 100x better then SQL Mail on 2000.

Good stuff Tom Smile.

Really try the other one it is more flexible; and best it is upgrade for
your security. Because you don't have to have Outlook installed on the
server any more Smile.
