Can SQL Server 2008 Standard live side by side with SQL Server 2005 Standard?

Yea it works without any problem, however you better "set max server memory"
option for each instance where they work side by side so that they would not
fight for memory continuously.

In addition to the tip about memory, I would strongly recommend installing
SQL Server 2005 first.

After upgrading the client tools for 2005 to SP3 - I had to run a repair on
the SQL Server 2008 installation. Nothing major wrong - but projects would
no longer open in the 2008 tools.
