I'm attempting to create an ODBC connection to SQL 2005 Express accross a
workgroup but the computer does not see the server. I also have SQL 2000
Developer on the save computer and the ODBC does see that server. The
computer that I'm trying to connect front uses Winows XP Professional and the
computer I'm connecting to uses Windows XP Media. Anything I can do to set
up the connection? I'm hoping to use express for a backend to an Access
database.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The server name is "CompaqDesktop\SQLExpress"
When trying to make an ODBC connection I've now tried
"SQLExpress"
"CompaqDeskTop\SQLExpress"
CompaqDeskTop\SQLExpress\SQLExpress" - then instance name

It keeps returning that it can't find the server
