Post subject: Running server based vb.net app through Progress
Archived from groups: comp>databases>progress (more info?)

Hello,
I hope that I can explain this well. My company bought a software
package that uses Progress as it's language. We would like to add
more functionality to the software by writing small apps in vb.net to
fill the needs the software doesn't provide. I have already worked
with the progress databases.

What I need is to have the Progress app call a .exe file that I
have written.

1. I need it to pass information to my app.(I can do through txt file
if needed)
2. Progress app is a client/server app( should it be installed and
executed through server or client?)
3.How would I call this app for client/server.

I hope someone out there has done this type of interaction before.

Thanks,
John
