Hi,
Server A is having mssql 2005 (9.0.1399) while server B is having mssql 2000
(8.9.2187).

When a job is scheduled to transfer data from server A to B via linked
server, there is an error - 'Server B is not configured for RPC. [SQLSTATE
42000] (Error 7411).'
I have verified under component services for both servers to enable 'Allow
Remote Client' under Network DTC Access and also require 'No authentication
required'. The DTC Logon account is NT Authority\NetworkService. These are
all under security setting in MSDTC under my computer for component services.

I saw an article for mssql 2005 (64 bit) -
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;906954.
Is this applicable for mssql 2005 (32 bits)?

Please advice how to resolve this issue. Thanks.

Have you configured RPC in the linked server properties?
