Are you connecting with windows or SQL auth? Try both and see what happens.
Also, make sure you're connecting with an admin acct to make sure it's
nothing dumb like that. Let me see, what else... ummm...
Make sure the server is listening on IP primarily. Try connecting through
different ways... ODBC, OLEDB, etc.
In the most extreme, you may have a corrupt MDAC on your client. Since
another server can connect just fine, that leads me to believe that it's
nothing with the SQL box. So perhaps look at refreshing MDAC as well. Look
at the box that's working and put the same version on the other box.
These are just ideas, so you can just check those and get back with me.
