Post subject: Moving from cluster to un-clustered - SQL 2000
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>sqlserver>clustering (more info?)

From what I'm given to understand, a re-install of SQL Server is required to
return to an un-clustered mode.

We do not plan any other changes: o/s will remain the same as will all
current databases. The server name will be changed to match the current
cluster name prior to re-install. We plan to re-install SQL 2000 Enterprise
and patch it to the same level as it is currently.

To ensure continuity and preserve user accounts, SIDs, permissions & Agent
jobs, can I simply stop SQL Server and replace the system dbs after the first
boot on the new installation? Master & msdb would be the two to replace,
right?

Thanks in advance!
