Does anyone know if an existing SQL 2005 box can also host a MSDE db if the
comm ports are different ?

Thanks in advance!!

SQL Server 2005 can manage an MSDE database (and COMM ports are not involved
at all in the game Smile ).. as soon as you attach an MSDE database to a SQL
Server 2005 instance the database will be upgraded in the metadata and can
no be longer ne managed by MSDE any more.. it's a one way ticket..
