Post subject: Importing and converting a different language from excel
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>sqlserver>tools (more info?)

Hi,
I'm trying to import a file from excell that uses thai characters and
english into sql server 2000. i'm using the import export tool, and it
inserts the direct thai characters in where it is then unreadable on my
website.

If i insert off a form on my webpage it automatically converts the
characters to the format ต which works well. I tried converting
the incoming characters to utf-8 but it only converted the character to
3 digits not four and wouldnt proccess correctly. ie ´

I'm not sure if i'm using the right encoding, or whether there is any
other way of importing different languages. Any help would be much
appreciated.

Regards
Dean
