Post subject: Function linked to ODBC fail
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>sqlserver>odbc (more info?)

Hi,
I have a function on sql 2005 that calls a odbc link to oracle.
The oracle DB was down when I called the function and I received this error:
Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "OraOLEDB.Oracle"
Is there a way for me just to return Null so the stored procedure that calls
this function continues to work?
Thanks
Andre
