i'm intending to do some data stuff for a Business Objects install. the
laptop will be 8.1.[5|6]. if all goes well, the clients will likely run
on z/os v7.1.1, possibly 8.1.

i've downloaded the FP10 (windoze). the SP book says that deploying
from 8.2 back is not just drag-n-drop, but doesn't say it's impossible.

so, have folks found it worth the grief? is DC in 8.2 sufficiently
better than 8.1? from the screen shots in the SP book, it looks about
the same.

The main difference between versions 8.1 and 8.2 is the way database
engine handles stored procedures on Windows and Unixes:

-> 8.1 compiles SPL code through C language and creates shared library
(requires C compiler).
-> 8.2 compiles to pseudo code which is interpreted internally by db
engine.
