Hi Everybody,
The following has been bothering me since V8.5 so I decided to ask for
a help.
When I launch the DDR, I get the following message which pops up
several times :
'XSLT warning: Fatal Error at (file, line 0, column 0):
An exception occurred! Type:XMLPlatformException,
Message:Could not open file: /Applications/FileMaker Pro 10 Advanced/
FMP v10 (, line - 1, column - 1)'
I get this warning when 'HTML' is checked.
When XML is checked, the "Summary" report opens in a text editor !
This happens with V8.5, V9 & V 10.
Any help would be more than appreciated.
Thank you ... >> Stay informed about: DDR |

1) Please include platform information (OSX or Windows? What version?)
I'm guessing OSX based on the path, but... still don't know what
version of OSX.
2) Please don't use unusual acronyms without expanding them at least
once...Maybe its just me, but I'm not sure 'DDR' is a standard term
for the Database Design Report... I only clued in because I recognized
the XML/HTML option, and knew that feature uses XSLT.
That said, I can't help you. On the surface, it sounds like a file is
missing, or perhaps a file association is wrong.
re: HTML : it generates the XML first, and then runs it through an
XSLT to create the HTML. The error you are getting relates to its
inability to perform that transformation.
re: XML : What do .xml files usually open with for you? What do you
expect it to open in?
Frankly, I'd call Filemaker Inc. for support. This is a basic
installation / feature issue.
Given that its a problem in 3 versions, I expect something is missing
or mis-configured on your PC.
cheers,
Dave >> Stay informed about: DDR |

Is "Automatically open file when done" checked? It sounds like it.
Your issue may have nothing to do with Filemaker at all, but that the
default application for opening an HTML file isn't launching
correctly. Usually it's just your web browser, but it's possible
another app is launching instead.
Try creating the DDR without opening it automatically and then opening
it by double clicking on it.

Sorry Dave,
Thanks for your response.
I'm using Leopard 10.5.6 & I'll keep the acronym suggestion in mind.
--------------------------------------------------------------–--
Grip,
Thanks as well. I tried the process without the auto open feature as
well but get the same error messages.
Based on your responses, I'm going to remove a few plug-ins & try
again.
Thanks again to both of you for the rapid replies. >> Stay informed about: DDR |
