Post subject: DB Crash due to BI Overflow
Archived from groups: comp>databases>progress (more info?)

A customer of us has had 3 db crashes over the last 12 month
because of a BI File overflowing the 2 GB unix limit.

What happens, if using only fixed sized BI extent, for
example three 1 GB fix BI extents.

Is the DB still consistent, if this fixed sized BI files
does overflow? Or is here also a dump&load needed to
repair the db?

Chris
