Cluster problem sql server 2000 active/passive is running ..

Hello,

Today, during work, suddenly my sql server was stopped, cluster
started failover. Did not switch node but started sql on the same
active machine. After that I got message that on passive machine also
sql server service is running
I tried to stop sql on passive node from Service Manager but I also
stopped cluster.
Do you know how to stop sql server on passive node and what could be
the reason??

Any help appreciate .
